Special to The Star reports William Hamilton, the farmer accused of murdering 13-year-old Mabel Richants, was seized from jail by a mob of over 800, dragged through Asotin Washington streets, and hanged from a telegraph pole. The crowd overpowered guards, used a noose, and swiftly dispersed, with little likelihood of arrests.
Burglars struck three families on Beacon Hill last night taking small valuables after window and door entries. Frank Downe at 2166 Thirteenth Avenue South, W Benton at 211 Fourteenth Avenue South, and D C Stingerland at 2900 Fourteenth Avenue South reported the entries. Police cited no arrests as of this morning.

George Voelger a fireman on a team shovel was killed when a freight car struck him six miles south of Auburn at 2 40 AM. The car dragged his body two feet before stopping. He may have fallen or stumbled onto the track. no known inquest. Voelger was 40 years old.
