In Reading on January 12, Mike Porokeski a Hungarian stabbed John Epgrove a Polander in a quarrel driven by jealousy. Epgrove was hospitalized with injuries considered likely fatal.

George P. Reichel, who had sought a divorce from his wife charging infidelity, shot himself in Macon Missouri after filing suit. His widow is daughter of Col Richard Cromwell a leading society and church figure. Hugh Willis aged 17 of Bowling Green Missouri named as co respondent. Reichel sought return of property deeded to his wife and custody of their children claiming he signed under duress and was coerced. He later claimed she had him declared insane and confined to an asylum from which he was released July 1st.
Decatur HL reports at Grace Methodist Church pastor Rev G H Hobha presided over the Hart funeral for James Hart a traveling salesman. After viewing the casket Peter Hart a brother uttered a rasp and collapsed dying beside the coffin aged 60. Heart disease is named as the cause for both deaths.
