A Scottsdale man accidentally shot himself in the side at 8 30 p m Tuesday while playing catch with a loaded 22 caliber rifle in his apartment at 3232 North 62nd Street. Lt William Schultz said he was tossing the rifle and it fell striking him. He was treated at Doctors Hospital and later moved to Maricopa County General Hospital in good condition.

Resort Shop to Reopen at 25 W Main Following Major Remodel
Hapny's Scottsdale Resort Shop at 25 West Main Street returns Thursday after a fire last April nearly destroyed the building. The 9000 square foot store has been rebuilt and modernized with a raised illuminated ceiling, brass and wrought iron lamps, redwood fixtures, olive carpet, and citrus walls. Manager Jack Schafer and Cullen Watt lead the menswear division. Mrs. Queenie Belton and staff run the women’s department. Three trunk showings highlight the opening with Louis Roth suits by James Karantino, Stetson shoes by Homer Plowman, and Alex Coleman holiday lines by Sol Weisenthal. The shop, opened 20 years ago, now serves customers coast to coast and in Canada.
