Burglars steal ring and items from Scottsdale homes
Police report multiple Scottsdale burglaries with a diamond ring valued at 750 dollars and other goods over 350 dollars missing from Tony Gardella’s home on E Thomas Road. Items including a TV, stereo, lamps, rifle, pistol, and jewelry were taken from Evelyn Rodesberry’s house on 70th Street. Pyhel case delayed in Scottsdale for indecent exposure charges
City Court arraignment for Henry G. Pyhel 8235 E. Osborn on indecent exposure is postponed indefinitely. Prosecutor Don Cramp ton says the case was removed from the Scottsdale City Court docket for personal reasons and may wait on two other Pyhel hearings. Statewide driver education plan heads to committee
A proposed driver education program for Arizona high schools will be submitted to the Legislative Joint Transportation Committee. The plan, approved by a subcommittee, would cost about 1 million dollars yearly and take effect July 1 1971. Beginning July 1 1973 drivers aged 16 to 18 must complete the course to obtain a license with state funding of 40 dollars per student and district supplements as needed.

Suspect Beitman Arrested In Auto Theft Case
Richard Beitman an 18 year old of 5208 North 69th Place was arrested early today for drug theft after a traffic stop for speeding at 3 05 am. A license plate check showed stolen plates and police said the car had been taken from Bud Beck Pontiac between Sept 3 and Oct 10. Beitman admitted buying the 1969 auto for 200 from a man who later died by his own action. He was charged with theft and held in City Jail.

Wife Arrested After Fatal Shooting In Phoenix Home
Betty Jo Lee, 43, was jailed on a murder charge after allegedly shooting her husband John Lee, 45, at their Phoenix home. The couple’s daughter Kathleen Parker called the sheriff’s office. Detective Jim Kepner said Lee was likely shot with a .22 caliber rifle after an argument.
