Police blocked a march to serve an eviction notice on President Nixon as nearly 300 demonstrators were detained one block from the White House. Leaders Rennie Davis and Fr. James Groppi were among those arrested amid a largely peaceful, rush hour disruption.

Passing cycle struck by car in Scottsdale incident
An 18 year-old motorcyclist Ronald Phillips was struck while passing on the right at 2255 N. Scottsdale Rd. He was treated and released at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital and cited for unsafe passing. Scottsdale plans 78 unit apartment hotel on Civic Center land
