Hughes bid to buy Air West put to stockholders
Air West directors voted unanimously to submit a Hughes bid to stockholders before year end. The plan targets December 20 as the decisive date. Hughes offered about 90 million dollars for Air West, roughly 22 dollars a share, while Air West serves over 50 cities in the western U S Canada and Mexico.

SRP joins national program to develop new nuclear reactor
The Salt River Project participates in a national effort to create a new type of nuclear reactor aimed at lowering electricity costs. SRP President Victor I. Rodeway Inns Expand. Phoenix Area Adds Third Motel
Rodeway Inns of America reports 22.8 million dollars invested in 13 new or under construction motels. A Phoenix location at Buckeye Road and 24th Street near Sky Harbor opens early 1969 as the third Rodeway in the greater Phoenix area, joining sites on N W Grand Avenue and downtown Scottsdale.
