Grease fires and rescues across city incidents

Da Nang shelling erupts as winter offensive looms
UPI reports rocket and mortar attacks hit at least four allied installations around Da Nang as Premier Tran Van Huong warned of a guerrilla winter offensive. The strikes targeted Marine headquarters Red Beach Marble Mountain and the Logistics Center. one American killed and another wounded, with curfew in place and ongoing heavy fighting near Da Nang.

Mink jacket theft at Safari Hotel in Scottsdale
A white mink jacket valued at 850 dollars and about 533 dollars in jewelry were stolen from separate Safari Hotel sites in Scottsdale. The jacket designed by Oleg Cassini vanished from the convention center between Wednesday evening and Sunday morning. Jewelry was on display in a locked restaurant case. police suggest a common access key may have been used. Police logged the time frame as Saturday noon to Monday 10 am. Fifteen Demerol syringes were reported stolen from Dr. Charles Rachel’s office between Oct 15 and last Saturday.

Sun City man quits driving after wild crash spree
An 8 year old Sun City resident, William Worth Murphy, vowed to give up driving after losing control of his car. He caused about 10 000 dollars in damage by backing into two autos and striking a third head on. The car then pushed a fourth across a sidewalk into two more vehicles, backed into a seventh, and sped into the rear of an eighth car, jumped a curb, crossed a lawn, and collided with the nursing home wall.
