Youths Assaulted on East Bonita Drive, Browder Reports
A 16 or 17 year old youth, David L. Browder, told police he was assaulted by two youths Wednesday night at 8 15 in the 8200 block of East Bonita Drive as he walked with his girlfriend. The attackers jumped from an old pickup, kicked and punched Browder. the girl was not harmed. No motive was found by police. The suspects wore western clothes and boots and are described as about 16 and 17 years old.

Motorola wins Navy contract for missile test equipment
The Navy awarded Motorola's Government Electronics Division in Scottsdale a contract worth 1,439,000 for associated test equipment for missile applications. Motorola general manager Ralph W. Elsher said all work would be done at the Scottsdale plant using existing personnel and facilities.

Police investigate four burglaries in which tools and a tool box valued at 608 dollars, liquor worth 33.10, coins and a piggy bank, a 150 photo enlarger, and a 10 by 12 inch dog door were stolen. Fire Damage Reports and Related Incidents on Wednesday
Early Wednesday a fire on McDowell Road west of Pima in Tempe caused 2600 dollars in damage to Truck owned by Tempe Equipment Co. The fire started at 7 39 and the cause is unknown. The cab area and engine compartment suffered heat and smoke damage. Three minor fires were reported that day with minimal damage. A washing machine motor burned at Robert Levi s home causing 35 dollars in damage. The incident started around 11 15 AM.
