Sirhan Sirhan moved to Death Row at San Quentin
Sirhan Sirhan was secretly flown to San Quentin and placed in Cell 33 on Death Row after being convicted of murdering Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The 25 year old Arab immigrant was transported from Los Angeles County jail to Van Nuys Airport then aboard a state plane for the 400 mile trip north. The sentence followed a 312 month trial and judge Herbert V. Walker's formal verdict despite pleas for mercy from Kennedy’s family.
