Scottsdale to replace outdoor ad benches with concrete models
City plans to replace about 100 outdoor advertising benches under a 1969 70 budget appropriation of six thousand dollars arguing the current benches with slogans invite vandalism and advertising. City Manager Bill Donaldson notes the fund may be unused as the city may accept a sixty dollar per bench sale but prefers concrete benches that require less maintenance and a reduced bench count due to lack of demand for two side by side units.
