Ecuadorian warships strafed the Neptune and seized six tuna boats near Salinas, including the Royal Pacific and Puritan. The vessels were San Diego owned. no injuries reported. Police report burglars broke a window at Saguaro Veterinary Clinic on E McDonald Drive between 6 15 p m Wednesday and 9 a m Thursday and stole about 55 dollars from the cash box. A separate break in at Jack Johnson Chrysler Plymouth on Scottsdale Road saw thieves force open vending machines after cutting a gate lock between 9 p m Thursday and 6 40 a m today and take between 2 and 3 dollars.

Three Fence Fires Cause $450 Damage in Nearby Homes
Firemen responded to four fence fires Thursday afternoon in a neighborhood. Each blaze caused about $150 in damage, destroying roughly 50 feet of fencing. The Maiden residence fire was spotted by patrols. the others’ causes remain unknown. An additional electric shoe polisher fire at 6041 N Quail Run Rd caused about $500 damage but was contained by the owner before arrival.
