Butterscotch topping cake recipe uses shortening sugar egg flour soda salt and spices with applesauce and walnuts. Bake in greased 9 inch pan at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes then broil topping until bubbly and browned. Butterscotch topping blends butter brown sugar corn syrup walnuts and coconut.
Mrs Reginald Woods manages the Fountain Hills branch of Southwest Savings and is an assistant vice president and former Scottsdale Soroptimist president who earned a graduate diploma from the American Savings and Loan Institute. This recipe is an old family favorite. Saute onion and celery in butter then mix with bread crumbs and beaten eggs milk parsley and sauce. Fold in salmon and bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand before serving with baked potatoes and buttered peas. Serves 4.
