Maricopa County will receive a patent for 627.2 acres in McDowell Mountain Regional Park northeast of Fred J. Weiler at 10 am Monday in the county building. The $1,568 purchase marks the first county federal land purchase under the Recreation and Public Purposes Act of 1961. The act permits public lands to be leased for recreation at 25 cents per acre with a $2.50 per acre cap.
