Oswalds mother Marguerite Oswald insists the body of Lee Harvey Oswald will remain in the pine coffin at Rose Hill Cemetery despite police calls for exhumation. Fort Worth police estimate ongoing guard costs at about 3000 dollars monthly.
Mrs. Oswald told reporters she believes her son Lee Oswald is innocent. She described Lee’s actions after the Kennedy shooting, stating he worked at the Texas School Book Depository and panicked to return home for a gun after hearing the shots. She recounted a Coca Cola stop during his flight.
She offers cautious remarks about the Kennedy case and her son, noting she has not seen him for over a year and expressing views on motherhood and work. She stresses she is a practical nurse and emphasizes the need for a home environment for children, saying mothers with children should stay home when possible.
Scottsdale police logged two rock throwing complaints in the besieged southeast area last night with no damage reported. Residents Lee Ripperger and P M Dickens reported rocks striking roofs and cars as youths in a white Volvo allegedly lob rocks from areas north of Thomas Rd. Modern commotion follows repeated attacks since August on the 8500 block of Edgemont and nearby streets. In Washington, President Johnson said Byrd agreed to a retroactive tax cut to Jan 1 1964, with Dirksen also on board, though passage may take weeks or months after year start.

Scottsdale post office will reply to children who write Santa Claus this year if they include Santa's Zip Code 99701 and their own return address. Postmaster O C Wilson notes the change to Santa's address at North Pole 99701.
