Housing construction in Maricopa County tightens rate
A housing study committee reports construction of homes and apartments in Maricopa County is progressing barely fast enough to meet demand. The vacancy rate for single family homes fell from 2 percent to 1 percent in the second quarter of 1968 year over year, while multi family vacancies dropped from 17 percent to 13 percent, down from 30 percent five years earlier.
