Burglary incidents reported by Scottsdale police
Two 13 year old boys were picked up Monday morning after attempting to burglarize a home on Buena Terra Way. A neighbor shouted and the youths fled. one was captured and held until police arrived, the other surrendered later. A separate burglary on N 70th Street yielded a $500 color TV and cash, with entry through a rear arcade door. Another burglary on N 87th Street saw entry through a rear window, taking pennies and $20 bills.

Scottsdale Driver Arrested After Vehicle Hits Police Car
A 63 year old man from Minnesota was arrested after his vehicle rolled backward and struck a police car. Officer Russell Moore reported the incident occurred around 8 45 PM with the driver cited for driving while intoxicated and failure to control the vehicle. A second crash at Hayden and Indian School roads injured a 16 year old girl passenger and led to a red light violation citation for the other driver. Additional minor accidents included a 16 year old injured in a rear end collision and a Scottsdale man slightly injured after a rock in the road caused a collision delayed by traffic signals. Police cited several drivers for traffic violations and noted no major injuries beyond those described.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Traffic club and Chicago Coffee club.

Dist. Atty. Edmund Dinis ordered an autopsy on Mary Kopechne the day after she died only to learn her body had been flown to Pennsylvania. The 28 year old former Kennedy campaign worker drowned when a car driven by Edward M. Kennedy plunged off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island. An inquest is set for Sept 8 and Dinis plans to petition Pennsylvania authorities to exhume the body.
