AEC Sets Underground Blast in Nevada Test Site April 24
The Atomic Energy Commission announced a low megaton underground test named Boxcar at the Nevada Test Site on April 24 at 7 a.m. MST. The event may rattle a 250 mile radius including Nevada California Arizona Utah, with mild effects expected in California and Arizona and possible building sway in Reno and Salt Lake City. Beatty and Fleur De Lis Ranch residents were told to evacuate structures during the event.
