Fourth of July celebration in Scarsdale planned with multiple events
Scarsdale residents will enjoy a full Fourth of July program from mid morning to midnight. Greenacres Greenacres Field games begin at 9 30 a m, Crossways Field at 10 30 a m, and Davis Park at 2 p m with prizes to be awarded. Butler Field hosts music by the Army Air Corps Band and a Color Guard competition at 4 p m and a band concert at 5 30 p m. The massing of colors is at 7 45 p m followed by prize awards and an 8 15 p m ceremony with Senator Williamson as MC. Fireworks run 9 15 to 10 p m, then dancing. Mayor Darby attends multiple events and volunteers coordinate hospitality and receptions for Army guests. The Starner Tree Service aids in mosquito control. Contributions and tag pickups are urged at the Inquirer office.

Sports Program Opens July 7 at High School Grounds
The program runs daily from 9:30 to 1:30 starting Monday July 7 on the High School grounds. Supervisor of boys activities is Charles H. Chrystal former Tuckahoe coach with NYAC Day Camp and Eastchester Recreation Dept. Grace Creavy leads girls activities with prior roles at Edgewood Camp MacArthur and Eastchester schools. Baseball forms a team to represent Scarsdale in a Westchester County tournament.
