Two Men Die After Gas Tank Car Explosion
Two railroad workers, Clyde N. Holcomb and Arthur W. Cleveland, were killed near Heathcote Station when a tank car pump struck a charged overhead wire after a gas explosion. Cleveland heroically tried to lower the pump, but both men were engulfed in flames and died within hours.
