Fourth of July Celebration In Scarsdale Planned Again
Scarsdale residents will enjoy a full day and evening celebration with neighborhood ceremonies by Arthur Manor East Scarsdale and Greenacres Ass'ns. Contributions are requested to cover costs up about 15 percent higher than last year. The 1st Air Force Band from Mitchell AFB will perform, a U.S. Army Color Guard and Firing Squad will attend, and a fireworks display will cap the night. William W. Luman returns as general chairman.

Censure Resolved Against Scarsdale Legion Post
At a June meeting in Mamaroneck the County Legion censured Scarsdale Post 52 for opposing the February 1956 un American activities committee issue. The censure followed hours of debate with post members arguing the resolution, the committee chair Chauncey T. Fish, and county officials noting misrepresentation and improper use of funds in the publication. Starkweather named chairman of the Scarsdale Bowl committee for 1957. the bowl honors civic service with a yearly inscription and a replica gift.
