Scarsdale celebrated Memorial Day with a parade from 8 45 a m to 12 45 p m at Butler Field led by an efficient committee headed by Gomer Reese Jr and showcasing Boy and Girl Scout units. Mayor Willard P Scott lauded Scout leadership and community service as Troop 4A won drill, Pack 5 earned the John A Pearson Cup, and Troop 5 led by Mrs Smoley captured the Intermediate Cup in the Girl Scout contest with tight scoring among multiple troops. On May 26 at the Griffin home in Greenwich Conn the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of NYU Bellevue Medical Center received the distinguished service certificate from the President's Committee on Employment of the Physically Handicapped.
