School Census Shows Increase in Scarsdale District
Scarsdale reports 3 159 children from birth to eighteen in this year’s census up 179 from last year’s 2 980 and 596 from 1928. Of the total 720 are four years old or under and 2 439 are five to eighteen. Among them 1 941 attended Scarsdale schools in November while 438 attended private schools including 105 at the Parochial.

Fire at 850 Scarsdale Avenue endangers Vondrack family
Fire at 850 Scarsdale Avenue caused 3000 dollars in damage and filled the home of Joseph Vondrack with smoke. Officers Travers and Lent carried three asleep children to safety before the fire department arrived. The blaze started from an overheated furnace in the basement, with two other furnace fires reported in Scarsdale that week and minor damage.

Workshop Presents New Actors in Two One Act Plays
The Workshop Group of the Wayside Players staged two one act plays at the Children's House of Hitchcock Memorial Church on Monday evening. New actors joined about seventy five attendees in roles in Wurzel Flummery by A A Milne and Bracelet by Alfred Sutro directed by Helen Huberth and Robert Chamberlin respectively. Patricia Ryan and Sydney Ballinger sang between acts and Hazel Schwarz offered curtain remarks crediting Mrs Harold Slauson for stage settings. Refreshments and dancing followed the performances.
