Scarsdale residents head to gifts and gatherings with dances, dinners, and theater outings. Families entertain at homes on Greenacres and Donellan roads while plans unfold for Christmas Eve dinners and December 28 dances at the Scarsdale Golf Club.
Scarsdale society rounds up events at the Scarsdale Golf Club and nearby homes. Mrs Hogg hosts a bridge. Mr and Mrs Fish of Salt Point visit Cornelius Fish at Overhill road. Mr and Mrs Joers host a dinner before a club dance. Dorothea Ford plans a December 28 bridge. Mr and Mrs James Oliver host a December 29 event for Louise. Davidge hosts dinner and bridge on Walworth avenue. Willoughby Richardson socializes at the club. Katharine Morfit offers a bridge at the Scarsdale Woman's Club December 30. William Alfring and wife plan a January 8 costume party at the club.
Miss Betty Firth daughter of Mr and Mrs Godfrey Firth Brewster road acts as hostess at a party this afternoon providing a social gathering update for local readers.
The Christmas Eve carol service will begin at eight o clock in front of Scarsdale High School with the Gloria Trumpeters leading community singers. They will perform carols and old world selections, with a possible move to the High School Auditorium if weather turns stormy.
Mrs David Magowan is recuperating at her Cooper road home following an operation.
V Everit Macy, former head of the Westchester County Department of Public Welfare, was appointed a member of the Westchester County Park Commission at the Board of Supervisors meeting in White Plains. He succeeds William D. Baldwin of Yonkers, with John G. Agar of New Rochelle and Felix M. Warburg of New York and Greenburgh reappointed.
More than two hundred fifty reservations have been received for the New Year's Eve dinner and dance at the Scarsdale Golf Club. Dinner will be served at eight o'clock and noise-makers will be distributed.
