Beaver Sale Friday In Concordia After Large Trapping Catch

The trapping season on Beaver closed on the 15th and Fred Haussermann of Scandia Hide and Fur Co. reports 114 skins. They were picked up by the state and a sale is held in Concordia on Friday March 24. This marks the largest Beaver catch in the territory for some time, per the State Fish and Game Dept.

Special Lenten services at the M. E. Church began Tuesday night and continue at 7 45 each evening. There will be no Saturday night sessions and the meetings will close Sunday April 2.

Benefit Play a Success at Scandia High School Auditorium

The home talent play A Human Alarm Clock directed by Ed Wires drew well filled houses Thursday and Friday at Scandia High School Auditorium. Proceeds to Scandia Band were substantial. The setting and performances by local actors, including Johnny Meirrom as Rob Mannion and Walter Ho Borner as Cap, were praised for realism and humor.
