State probes counseling referrals at Idaho hospital
The Idaho Health and Welfare Department investigates a Boise area link between Richard Bolton of Blackfoot and Dr. Dean Ackley a former Pocatello psychiatrist who did contract work for Hospital South. Ackley has received contracts totaling 208520 in counseling services at the hospital and state department while Bolton admits a personal and professional relationship with him and that some referrals came from Mormon bishops. The department calls the arrangement disturbing and says it will probe for potential conflict of interest while noting Bolton’s private practice was limited but revoked after an audit.
