A State Land Board decision keeps plans to build a logging road up Fox Creek drainage near a Sandpoint area cabin of Elwin R. Harford. Harford challenges the 125 foot proximity while the board argues the road is needed to access about 2,000 acres behind the proposed cut.
Spokane UPI report says Washington Water Power will hear two opposed angles at Thursday hearing. The Washington Utilities Commission backs a roughly 450000 adjustment to better fit needs, while attorney Donald Ericson argues for fairer redistribution favoring high users. He warns the plan may hurt low income homes during an energy crunch. WWP proposes 11 rate schedules across residential commercial and industrial customers with varied kilowatt hour blocks.
