The Kootenai Indian Nation began a ten cent roadside toll around Bonners Ferry amid tense exchanges with town residents. Man Hurt In Fall Off Train Near Bonner Bridge
Ray Leonard Bell a 35 year old from Spokane was injured last night when he apparently fell from a fast moving eastbound Burlington Northern train three and a half miles south of the long bridge in Bonner County. He suffered head injuries and is listed in satisfactory condition at Bonner General Hospital.

Five Indians Arrested After Arsenal Stop Near Seattle
Five American Indian men were arrested on a routine traffic stop east of Seattle. Police found rifles and pistols, knives, a hatchet, and about 2500 rounds of ammunition in the car.
