Hunt Tallies 1500 Alligator Skins From Louisiana Season
The first legal alligator hunt in seven years produced nearly 1500 skins turned in by hunters at Cameron Parish. Checkpoints will stay open through Thursday as thousands of acres owned by John Mecom Sr. furnished top numbers. The Miami Corp. and other large landholders led the effort, while the public did not participate. A separate National Park Service team studied two Magic Valley sites for future management plans in Idaho.
