Army Corps Engineer Selected to Lead North Pacific Division
Brigadier General Richard F McConnell will become Division Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers North Pacific Division effective December 15. He is in line for promotion to Major General and will succeed Major General Kenneth T. Sawyer, who moves to Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics at Fort Monroe Virginia. Farmer Sues for 150 Million Over Soviet Wheat Sale
Oklahoma wheat farmer Ed Cleveland filed a 150 million-dollar federal suit alleging former Agriculture official Clarence Palmby and five grain firms conspired in selling wheat to the Soviet Union. Cleveland claims Palmby leaked advance notice after leaving the department and that the early sale caused about 50 million in losses to Oklahoma farmers.
