Bonner County growers complete grain harvest with heavy losses due to August storms and wet early September weather. Athol farmer Robert Rickel reports 300 pounds per acre oats and 10 bushels per acre wheat after losing about two thirds of his crop. prices must rise to avoid further farming exits.
Bonner County will receive about 1780000? Wait no. Bonner County gets 178217 from the federal government plus 89000 timber revenues and 89217 in lieu payment. The bill signed by President Ford provides 117 million to counties nationwide with Idaho allotted 7.9 million annually. Boundary County gets 168000 including forest funds. Weather outlook: cooler afternoons with patchy clouds and no precipitation through Saturday.
Bonner County Sheriff candidates Guthrie and Harper failed to agree on debate format after nearly three and a half hours. Disagreement centered on which issues to debate and how they would be selected, with each side insisting on rival conditions and locations.

Pursley defended gun rights and advocated Sunset Law budgeting and zero base budgeting to reduce government waste. Vandals damaged a store window on Cedar Street, with police reporting a $158 loss.
