VW Driver Turner Uninjured In 1966 Drove Off Road

Connie Jo Turner, 19, of Lakeside Oregon, drove a 1966 Volkswagen off Reeder Bay Road near Priest River Friday afternoon. The car left the roadway, over corrected, crossed lanes, rolled in a ditch and overturned once. No injuries were reported and damages were listed at 800 dollars.

Palmer and Tarter Trial Set for January in Spokane Case

Edward D. Palmer and Milton W. Tarter, arrested last May on first degree murder charges linked to the stabbing death of Opal Almanza near Samuels, are scheduled for Jan. 4 in First District Court. They remain jailed in Bonner County without bond. Both men are from Irrigon Oregon and were apprehended at their campsite near the body site.
