Bing Crosby who died Friday of a heart attack while golfing in Spain was honored for a June 1946 fishing visit to Sandpoint. He stayed with Mayor Lawrence G. Moon and the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce and kept in touch through cards. Crosby recalled Lake Pend Oreille fishing days with Moon, Moon’s wife Hazel, and their son, and more Crosby photos will appear in tomorrow's Bee.

Assault charge filed against Edwin Taylor in Sandpoint
Edwin Taylor, 38, of Sagle, was arrested by Sandpoint police on assault with a deadly weapon charges linked to an incident Sept. 9 in the Safeway parking lot. Victims Dennis Copley of Sagle and Streve Jenbrisak of Sandpoint identified him from a photo lineup. He was jailed in Bonner County with a $5,000 bond.

Burglary Report Hits Madeline Residence on Lightning Creek Road
Sunday the Bonner County Sheriff's Office reported a burglary at the Madeline residence on Lightning Creek Road 414 miles past the Pack River General Store. Missing items include a .22 caliber semi automatic rifle with a four power scope a 16 gauge single shot shotgun a Marlin .22 caliber single shot rifle and $30 in change.
