Hunters Find Bigfoot Tracks in Washington Region
Sasquatch hunter Peter Byrne dismissed news of fresh Bigfoot tracks in the Lewis River area southwest of Washington state. Byrne, who runs a Bigfoot exhibit, says his cooperation with Robert W. Morgan and the American Yeti Expedition has ended after Morgan claimed many new finds. The group reported 161 manlike tracks from a creature believed eight feet tall.

Bonner County records report the Outback Inn at Schweitzer Basin was broken into about three weeks ago. A pop machine was tipped, windows and interior doors were damaged, Napkins and eating utensils scattered, and doors kicked in.

Gov Andrus Keeps Gas Tax Possibility Open
Idaho Governor Cecil D Andrus said he would not rule out a gasoline tax increase if needed, though he prefers no increases to sales or income taxes. Blasts Topple Power Towers East of Portland
Three high voltage transmission towers 50 miles east of Portland were destroyed by blasts of unknown origin. BPA reported one tower toppled, two others damaged, with fires burning two acres of forest. FBI and EPA noted possible simultaneous blasts, no power interruptions, and more explosives found nearby.

Murder details in Boundary County Kootenai man case
Authorities investigate the death of 63 year old Joe Skookum of Creston B C whose partially decomposed body was found near a Port Hill tavern by a Sandpoint pilot. Sheriff Ketner says the man died from three blows to the head and had been dead for three to four days before discovery. An autopsy indicates death occurred several hours after the attack.
