Behneswohld Arrested After DUI Crash Near Kootenai
Walter J. Behneswohld, 70, of 901 Ontario St Sandpoint, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after the pickup he drove failed to make a curve on state highway 200 near Kootenai. His 1970 Chevrolet truck sustained 300 in damage, losing a camper shell and ending on a railroad embankment.

Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney William Hollifield filed a felony charge against Sheriff Paul Corder amid questions from Idaho Attorney General Wayne Kidwell who opposed the move noting lack of evidence of criminal intent. Lost Hunter Found Safe On High Drive
A lost hunter, Bryan Tolbert of Sagle, was found safe and tired early Monday on High Drive above Allen Road near Twin Lakes after an all night CB radio search. Tolbert described getting separated at dusk Sunday, lighting a fire, and being found at 5 30 am when a flare guided rescuers Bill Timblin and Jack Russell led to his recovery.

Two Area Youths Injured In Motorcycle Mishap
Two minor stepbrothers on a Kawasaki 90 were in a head on crash with a 1974 Plymouth on Garfield Bay Road at 10 10 am. Gene Mistelske 13 and Tracy Fort 12 sustained multiple injuries and were hospitalized. An accompanying rider, Joseph Thomas Wilcoxson 28, suffered a collapsed lung after a separate crash on Garfield Bay Road. A separate city beach collision involved Janet Ann Williams 18 and Melvin Lee Williams 19 in two different cars, with minor damages recorded.
