Incredible Idaho Fall Issue Highlighting Idaho Life

Sandpoint attorney Bandelin fined in contempt case

Glenn E. Bandelin of Sandpoint was fined 500 in Lewiston District Court for Criminal Contempt of Court linked to his guardianship duties for the estate of deceased Murial Talbot. Judge Daniel H. Quinlan ruled the defendant willfully neglected and violated his duties in four actions.

Burglars Take Old Radiators at Idaho Hide and Steel

Sandpoint police investigated a break in at the Idaho Hide and Steel Company on Thursday morning. Owner Elmer Ambers said thieves kicked in two office doors and carried off about 35 old radiators, with a barrel tipped over but no other valuables taken.

Talbot Estate Case Details Motive Uncovered

Judge Quinlan states Bandelin acted without personal gain and that hearings and pre sentencing investigations found no such motive. The findings emphasize lack of personal profit in Bandelin's dealings regarding the Talbot estate.

Colburn Youth Injured In Rollover On Slick Highway

Benjamin M. Dorn aged 17 driving an oil truck for Bitzman Oil Company rolled twice on a freshly oiled curve near Pack River Bridge north of Colburn. He was listed in satisfactory condition at Bonner General Hospital with head and chest injuries. the truck was a total loss and no citation was issued. Dorn is the son of Bonner County Deputy Sheriff William Dorn.

Hart introduces bill to ban private handgun ownership

Sen. Philip Hart of Michigan proposes a federal measure to purchase and destroy all handguns within 180 days, with penalties of up to five years in jail or a $5000 fine for possession after the deadline. Exemptions apply to military police collectors and shooting clubs.

School Buses Vandalized in Sandpoint

Kenneth Holt of School District 82 reported to Sandpoint Police that several district buses were broken into and Pyrene fire extinguishers stolen. Thieves sprayed extinguisher contents inside the vehicles as police investigate the incident.
