Hope Residents Split Over Water System Improvements

Twenty seven residents at Hope City Hall nearly divided on supporting a $50 000 water system bond after an engineers briefing on replacing 3900 feet of steel pipe. Fire Destroys Dairy On Farm To Market Road

Mr and Mrs Michael Culver found their dairy barn engulfed in flames on Farm to Market Road around 10 p m Tuesday. Northside Fire Dept extinguished the blaze before the milking parlor was damaged. The fire destroyed the barn and enough hay for 25 cattle, but livestock were moved to safety and no damage estimate was yet available.

Veteran Ed Critchell tops class after waiver to police academy

Snow Caused Wrecks Reported Near Sandpoint Area

A tanker truck jackknifed at the intersection of Highways 95 and 200 north of Sandpoint as part of four snow related accidents reported early today. Responding officers noted a Long Bridge incident on Highway 95 south of town a rollover four miles north, and a car off the highway one mile north. One injuries were reported from the north Sandpoint rollover and the driver was taken to Bonner General Hospital by a passing motorist.

Winterizing Effort Aids Low Income Homes In County

Bonner and Boundary Counties crews have spent the last month weatherizing homes of low income residents funded by a North Idaho Special Services Agency grant. The program installs storm windows insulation and weather stripping repairs to cut fuel bills. Many recipients are seniors and the service is free. An advisory committee will form locally to select eligible homes and invite community participation.
