Christmas Tree Put On Penney's Roof In Sandpoint
The downtown Christmas tree will be placed atop the Penney's store after a Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce merchants committee decision. Art students from Sandpoint High School will light and decorate the tree and downtown windows for participating merchants. The committee will assess old chamber decorations for possible use while many lights will likely glow at town entrances. The Kiddies Matinee returns to Panida Theater on December 14. Store hours announced include Friday nights to 9 pm after Thanksgiving, then 8 pm nightly December 16 to 20 and December 23.

Jail Break Suspect Due Return Here
Two Bonner County deputies travel from Portland to return Steven Staskiewicz 23 to face charges for the July jail break. He was captured on a federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution after aiding Jesse O Donnelly 22 and freeing William Morgan from the county jail at gunpoint.
