Sandpoint youth Joe Colpaert, 15, was wounded in the right leg when a 22 caliber pistol discharged while returning it to his holster during a grouse hunt with his brother Shawn. The bullet entered mid-thigh, traveled about eight inches, and exited above the calf. He was treated at Bonner General Hospital and released the next morning after overnight observation. His mother, recently released from the same hospital for a possible heart attack, was not present.
