Wallace shot after Laurel campaign speech in Maryland
Gov. George C. Wallace of Alabama was shot minutes after addressing a crowd at a Laurel Maryland shopping center. He moved into the audience to shake hands when shots rang out. an ambulance took him to Leland Memorial Hospital in Riverdale.
