The Board of Trustees approved a truancy policy after input from principals agencies magistrates and the assistant prosecuting attorney. The policy defines truancy and outlines procedures for the first four unauthorized absences with parental permission and knowledge factors addressed.

Wilcox Served With Writ Of Prohibition

Bonner County Sheriff Robert Wilcox was served with a Writ of Prohibition after a petition filed by John V. Strode alleges illegal controlled substances were maintained as evidence. The writ, signed by District Judge Dar Cogswell, requires Wilcox to appear May 29 to show cause why he should not be restrained from maintaining such substances.

Northwest enters phase two of nuclear power plan in 1980

Bonneville Power Administration official Norman A. Gilchrist outlined four step responses to energy shortages as Northwest utilities sign option agreements to build four nuclear plants. River Bank search for missing Bonner man turns up clues

Elderly Clark Fork resident Arnold Klug, in his mid 70s, disappeared Sunday after leaving home. Sheriff Robert Wilcox said clues from bloodhounds indicate he fell into Johnson Creek near Bonner County and that his pickup was found a mile up the road. Acknowledgments were made to helpers including Jim White, Mary McFarland, Fred and Florence Brooks, and Larry Thompson.

U S Sinks Cambodian Gunboats After Mayaguez Capture

UPI reports American aircraft sank three Cambodian gunboats and damaged about four more in retaliation for the Khmer Rouge's failure to release the captured Mayaguez. President Ford ordered the attack after Congress leaders gave broad support.
