No Time Plan On BN Rathdrum Yard

Burlington Northern has not set a construction date for the Rathdrum Idaho rail classification yard amid delayed plans and weak first quarter earnings. Kim Foreman says the project remains long range and will proceed when funds and need align, with phased development likely after completing a St. Paul yard. The Idaho project faced prior court battles over land condemnation and hinges on economic conditions and the St. Paul yard’s progress.

Missing drugs probe ties to Bonner County courthouse

Idaho AG investigator Allan Ceriale confirmed controlled substances are missing from a district court evidence room in the Bonner County Courthouse basement. The case stems from a petition by Westmond aviation mechanic John Strode seeking to remove sheriff responsibility for storage of the substances, with Clerk Doris Kenney noting the room is not under the sheriff and that stored items are court evidence from disposed cases.
