District Trustees Vote to Add 20 Dollar Driver Ed Fee

Trustees of School District 82 reluctantly approve a supplemental cost factor of 20 dollars per driver education student for 1971 72 after a 40 percent cut in state funding. Superintendent Jack Jones notes the district faces about a 20 000 dollar deficit and may use general funds if enrollment falls short. Voluntary options for building use by community groups are postponed pending principals meeting tonight.

Two Burlington Northern Trains Collide Night Deaths Reported

Two Burlington Northern freight trains collided head on on a curve six miles north of here at midnight. Four men were killed and two injured, one critically. The southbound crew included James Vernon and Donald Schiemmerick, with others from Kirby and Great Falls. Cleanup began at dawn as officials sought cause and extent of damage.

Admit And Resign Back Pay Offered To Admit Status

Two men dismissed from state service may resign and collect back pay by admitting they held political rather than merit system jobs. The stipulation ends charges of inefficiency against Ray Clovis and Delbert Colwell, but awaits State Personnel Commission approval.
