Capsule reaches Sunshine Mine to search for 58 missing miners

Rescuers using a two man steel capsule entered the Sunshine Mine No 12 shaft and moved through a 5 000 foot tunnel toward the No 10 shaft where 58 men have been trapped since a fire last Tuesday. Sandpoint Considers New Dog Ordinance and Fees

The Sandpoint Administration Committee introduced a proposed dog ordinance at a regular council meeting. It requires dog registration and fees of 5 dollars for males 7.5 dollars for females and 3 dollars for neutered animals. All dogs must be licensed by April 1 each year, with no license for under three months. The measure also bans dogs at large and creates a poundmaster to impound and dispose of unredeemed dogs after 72 hours.
