Boise dispatch reports Gov Don Samuelson is expected to be named top U S transportation official for the Pacific Northwest. The White House may announce the Seattle regional post by week end as the seat has been vacant since Norman Erbe moved to Chicago. Samuelson would represent the department in dealings with government agencies in the region.

SHS Concert Art Show Friday at Sandpoint High
Sandpoint High School music director Russ Whalen announced the Annual Spring Concert and Art Show to be held Friday May 7 at 8 p.m. in the SHS auditorium. Sheriff Seeks Bonner County Mounted Posse
Bonner County Sheriff Robert H. Wilcox said the department seeks volunteers to form a mounted posse to assist in parades drills and county activities. Applicants must be male 21 or older US citizen residents of Bonner County good riders with a suitable horse and the ability to transport it. Northern Lights Inc of Sandpoint Idaho was awarded an $860000 Rural Electrification Administration loan. $796000 funds will support construction including 38 miles of distribution line serving 250 new customers and 19 miles of 34.5 kilovolt transmission line plus system improvements such as a three mile tie line.
