Idaho Hopes Plan To Meet New Air Standards By 1975

State officials say Idaho already satisfies four of six new nationwide air standards and will craft a plan to meet the remaining goals by 1975. Areas in doubt include particulates and sulfur oxides, with several cities above allowable limits. Coeur d Alene is below the standard. Boise and Pocatello urban areas are well above it. Kellogg sulfur oxide must be cut significantly with agency help. Meanwhile at Miramar NAS, dockside clinics report high drug use among sailors, with 55 percent of naval personnel aged 17 to 25 estimated to use drugs.
