Opening Day Fish Registrations Hit With Large Catches

Bonner County K K Week officials report opening day fish registrations with several large Kamloops trout. Notable catches include Iris Striker 21 lb 5 oz in Wallace Idaho and J A Steward 23 lb 13 oz in Waverly Washington. Local anglers across Idaho and Washington submitted multiple Kamloops and Dolly Varden records.

Farmin School Holds Pre Registration for First Grade

Pre registration for Farmin Elementary in the learning center of the new Farmin School will be held May 6 at 1 p.m. Parents should bring birth certificates and will meet first grade teachers. Principal J A Naccarato and staff will discuss the school program with health nurse, PTA, and coffee hour planned.

Idaho fish and game chief Woodworth resigns for federal post

John R. Woodworth, Idaho fish and game director since July 1962, resigns to accept a GS13 regional environmentalist post with the Reclamation Bureau in Boise. Gov. Cecil Andrus calls the move a surprise but positive, noting Woodworth’s Idaho tenure and Hawaii background.

New Police Clerk Named for Sandpoint

Police Chief George Elliot announced the appointment of Mrs. Wannie Dill 23 a Sandpoint resident to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mrs. Patricia Irons Dill attended Meridian High School and Links Business School and has been employed as a commercial artist by AHC prior to her appointment to the Sandpoint municipal position Irons said she resigns for personal reasons and has enjoyed police work.
