Navy chaplain faces court martial over intimate affairs
In Jacksonville a Navy chaplain, Andrew F Jensen, is on trial for contact unbecoming an officer. Mary Ann Curran testified she had 17 sexual encounters with Jensen between August 1970 and March 1971, including in motels and his office, while Lora Gudbransen said she had four encounters with him in May and July. Jensen denies the charges as his case proceeds before a Navy court martial.

Coast Guard Lifts Pregnant Russian Woman From Offshore Vessel
A Coast Guard rescue helicopter evacuated a 33 year old Russian woman four months pregnant who hemorrhaged while aboard the Soviet Alba, 475 miles south of San Diego off Baja California. She was flown to Cedros Island then to a San Diego hospital for care. The Alba had earlier sailed from Vladivostok and planned a winter offshore California study.
