The State Board of Examiners set a policy to pay elected officials on an annual basis from taking office to leaving, denying Don Samuelson a back pay claim of 316 days. Samuelson had argued he worked the weekend before leaving office in January 1971. The board later also denied Univac's contract dispute for 344 216 against the state due to insufficient appropriation and lack of agency certification.

Youth Pleads Not Guilty To Drug Charges In Sandpoint
Pat Keane, 17, Sandpoint, pled not guilty Monday in District Court to possession and delivery of controlled substances. His trial is set for April 28 29 by Judge Dar Cogswell. Larry Kins, 24, Sandpoint, failed to appear and is rescheduled for arraignment March 22 at 10 am with attorney James Hunt representing both.
