Man Dies as Gunfire Hits Belfast Furniture Store
In Belfast an early morning shooting left one man dead and a nearby furniture shop owned by Lord Mayor Joseph Cairns badly damaged by an explosion. Police said no security forces were present. IRA ties are suspected. Bomb experts scanned wreckage for clues while nearby shops were damaged but no other injuries reported.
