Nine Arraigned On Drug Counts In Mass Raid
Nine arrested December 16 in a Bonner County mass drug raid face arraignment on charges from delivery of controlled substances to conspiracy. The group, mostly local youths, were rounded up in a pre dawn operation by Prosecuting Attorney Everett Hofmeister and Sheriff Robert Wilcox after ten weeks of undercover work by two narcotics agents. Car Smacks House In Sandpoint After High Speed Run
A youth lost control of a car on Friday evening, leaped a curb at Third Avenue and Church Street, and struck a residence at 109 North Third Street owned by Mrs. Merle Williams. Mathew S. Turnbull, 19, of Sagle, was identified as the driver. Police say speed caused the mishap. investigation continues.

Snow depth readings exceed average at Schweitzer Basin
Measurements taken March 1 by Tom Wilson and Dave Rosgen show Schweitzer Basin snow courses remain above average. At 6100 feet the depth averaged 123 inches with 49.7 inches of water, second highest for March in eight years, while near the lodge at 4500 feet depth averaged 88 inches with 37.0 inches of water.
